MRS. LOUISE SHEFFIELD McDUFFIE, age 93, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, March 11, 2021 at her residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, March 13, at Vilula Baptist Church, with Dr. Donnie Sutton and Rev. Tim Brown officiating, with interment in Vilula Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Mrs. McDuffie was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a graduate of Rhine High School, a dedicated church worker and member of Vilula Baptist Church, and a former secretary for Judge Steve Harvey the Wilcox County Probate Judge. She also worked at Stuckey’s Candy Company and was a secretary for many years at the Dodge County Farm Bureau. Beginning in her teenage years, she served as the pianist at Vilula Baptist Church and continued to play for the rest of her life. She also served as the women’s Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a singer and pianist for many years for the professional gospel group The Melody Makers Quartet and toured many places and recorded several albums in Nashville with the group. She also sang and played at many church services, revivals, and funerals as a member of the Vilula Trio. Louise was a very special lady who enjoyed fishing, cooking for her family and at church gatherings, tending to her flowers, gardening, taking care of her family, but most of all, she loved the Lord and put her trust and faith in Him. She was an avid reader and spent many hours reading the Bible and other good Christian books. She was the daughter of the late Julia Rogers Sheffield and Horace G. Sheffield and was preceded in death by her Husband of over 66 years, Ben McDuffie and a Sister, Mae Douglas.

 She is survived by her Son – Bentley McDuffie (Lynn) of Eastman; Granddaughter – Marla Craig (Adam) of Eastman; Sister – Pearl Sutton (Donnie) of Eastman; Caretaker – Julie Selph; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Numerous Cousins and Friends.

 Louise will lie-in-state at from 11:00AM-3:00PM Friday, March 12 at Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to Vilula Baptist Church.
