MRS. SUE LORENE JONES SNELLGROVE, age 88, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at her residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, June 7, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. LeDon Connell, Rev. Ronny Moore, and Rev. W.R. Connell officiating, with interment in Sugar Creek Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.

 Lorene was born in Telfair County on January 27, 1931 to Leila Jones, lived in Eastman most of her adult life, and was a 1949 graduate of Milan High School. She was the last charter member of Sugar Creek Congregational Methodist Church in Chauncey, where she was secretary and treasurer for over 50 years. She worked at C & J Manufacturing Company, was secretary for Snellgrove Used Cars, sewed for the public for many years, and also drove a transfer truck with her late husband for many years. She loved cooking every Sunday for her family and anyone else who would come eat. She loved working with her flowers, tending her garden, her animals, and most of all her family and her church family. She had a voice of an angel when she would sing in church and loved sharing her bluegrass music with her dear friend Wes Southerland. Lorene was preceded in death by her Husband, Eschol Snellgrove and Twin Infant Granddaughters, Catonya and Casonya Harrelson.

 Survivors: Daughter – Berniece Harrelson of Eastman; Son – Don Snellgrove (Barbara) of Eastman; 4 Grandchildren – Ron Snellgrove, Renae Wise, Corey Harrelson (Danielle) all of Eastman, and Shane Harrelson (Sandra) of Cobbtown, GA; 8 Great-Grandchildren – Mack Harrelson, Halle Wise, Cailyn Wise, Brock Harrelson, Bradley Harrelson, Blake Harrelson, Briana Lawrence, and Benjamin Lawrence; 6 Sisters-in-Law – Susie Brantley, Helen White, Hazel Cape, Mary Knowles, Blanche Robertson and Joyce Whatley; Several Cousins and Numerous Friends.

 The family may be contacted at the Snellgrove residence, 5238 Dodge Avenue, Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 6:00PM-8:00PM Thursday, June 6. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Sugar Creek Congregational Methodist Church Building Fund % Berniece Harrelson, 1640 Antioch Church Rd., Eastman, GA 31023.
