MR. LONNIE E. STEWART, age 77, of Cadwell, GA, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at the Dodge County Hospital.

MR. LONNIE E. STEWART, age 77, of Cadwell, GA, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at the Dodge County Hospital.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00PM-1:00PM Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Cadwell, GA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Chuck Yzenski and Rev. Greg Lowery officiating, with interment in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Lonnie was born in Atlanta, and raised in Augusta, GA, was a 1962 graduate of Richmond Academy, and served in the Army in the 101st Airborne Division as a paratrooper until 1965. He was very patriotic and was proud to serve his country. He worked at the Continental Can in Augusta, GA, and at the Savannah River Plant, in Jackson, SC. He later worked in Civil Service at Fort Gordon, transferred to Kings Bay, and later retired from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, GA.

He was a God-fearing, family-oriented man, who loved spending time with his wife, sons, siblings, and grandchildren. He was a devoted Christian and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and golfing.

He was the son of the late Lewis Elvin Stewart and Lura Ouzts Stewart, and was preceded in death by two siblings, Lorraine Andrews and Gary Stewart, brother-in-law Lacey Holton, and sister-in-law Debbie Stewart.

He is survived by his loving and devoted Wife of 54 years – Lynda Holton Stewart of Cadwell; 5 Sons – Jack Stewart (Pam) of Eastman, Lonnie Stewart (Misty) of Rentz, David Stewart (Dana) of Cumming, Victor Stewart (Miranda) of Cadwell, and Jason Stewart (Danielle) of Dublin; 15 Grandchildren – Jack Stewart, Jr. (Meghan Coley), Amber Dykes, Mahalie Dykes, Austin Haynes, Nolan Stewart, Caleb Hearn, Adrianna Long, Addison Stewart, Bailey Stewart, Caydin Stewart, Luke Stewart, Cole Stewart, Nicholas Stewart, and Levi Stewart; 2 Brothers – Vernon Stewart (Sherry) of Clarks Hill, SC and Daryl Stewart (Sherry) of Grovetown, GA; 2 Brothers-in-law – Mike Andrews of Jackson, SC and Larry Holton (Kim) of Dublin; Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and numerous friends.
