MS. LOIS DOWDY, age 82, of Covington, GA, died Friday, October 29, 2021, at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital in Conyers, GA.

 Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, November 3, at Old Fair Haven Cemetery, with Rev. Charles Burnham officiating.

 Lois was born and raised in Rhine, GA, and later moved to Cairo, GA, where she graduated from Cairo High School in 1957, and graduated from Albany State College. After college, she went to work as a stenographer for in the FBI in Atlanta and after retiring from the FBI she went to work for the Army Air National Guard as a secretary and later retired after 30 years of service. She attended St. Andrews Church in Covington, loved horses and raised them on her farm in Rockdale County. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, collecting cloths needed for her quilting, gardening, and going to yard sales. Lois was the daughter of the late Lois Burnham Dowdy and Ben Dowdy and was preceded in death by her Brother, James Dowdy, Sister-in-law, Jessie Dowdy, Nephew, Kevin Dowdy, and Great-Niece, Destin Butler Jenkins.

 She is survived by Several Cousins including – Jack Burnham (Linda), Don Burnam (Gail), Morrell Burnam, all of Eastman, and Charles Burnham of Douglas; 2 Nieces and 1 Nephew – Tammy Butler of Leesburg, GA, Valarie Dowdy West of Crawfordville, FL, and Van Dowdy (Donice) of Meigs, GA; Special Family Friends – Don and Jenna Shepherd, Shallon and Tina Hobbs.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Jack and Linda Burnham, 841 Windy Way, Eastman. In addition to flowers, the family contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Samaritans Purse, or the Humane Society.
