MRS. LILLIAN PURVIS LONG, age 92, of Eastman, GA died Monday, May 6, 2019 at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, May 9, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Billy Baker and Rev. Daniel Cook officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

 Mrs. Long was born in Dodge County, a longtime member and Sunday school teacher of Cottondale Baptist Church, and a current member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Helena. She was a retired textile worker for over 45 years for Reaves Brothers, Inc. and Martha Mills in Thomaston, and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers. She was daughter of the late Madonna Dennis Purvis and Jerry T. Purvis, widow of J.W. Long, and was preceded in death by 2 Brothers, Edison Purvis and Homer Purvis and 2 Granddaughters, Karen Dillinger and Cathy Granger Floyd.

 Survivors: Daughter – Janice Granger Cox (Bobby Jr.) of Helena; 2 Sons – Ronald Granger (Juanita) of Thomaston and Keith Granger (Linda) of Helena; 5 Grandchildren – Cindy Riddle, Misty Cox, Bobby Cox III (Noel), Steve Granger (Mandy) and Lisa Gilbert (Chris); 6 Step-Grandchildren – Chris Long, Keith Long, Scott Long, Joey Long, Stacey Long, and Tracey Long; Numerous Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at residence of Janice and Bobby Cox, Jr., 11 Mt. Olivet Church Road, Helena, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Thursday, May 8. In addition to flowers contributions may be made to Gideons International or New Bethel Baptist Church, Jay Bird Springs Road, Helena, GA 31037.
