MRS. LILLIAN HORTENSE WEEKS DENNIS, age 97, was born in Greensboro, NC and passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, December 11, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Mike Grenade officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Wednesday, December 11.  

 Lillian was the daughter of the late Ira Hannibal and Mary Ann Yourn Weeks and was preceded in death by 4 Sisters and Brothers, Willie Maud Michaux, Mary Frances Roberts, Carl Weeks, and Dudley Weeks. She was married to Alfred Henry Dennis for 43 years until his death in August 1989. She is survived by 2 Sons, Terry Dennis (Becky) of Hernando Beach, FL and Mike Dennis (Darlene) of Madison, GA;  ! Sister, Canoy Blair;  2 Granddaughters, Jaime Brackett (Chase) of Orlando, FL and Molly Haley (Gene) of Bend, OR; 7 Great-Grandchildren, Jay, Ben, Lily and Chole Brackett, and Sandy, Mason, and Marin Haley.

 She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and traveled all over the world, with her family, living in Malta and Sicily while traveling to Morocco, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. She worked for the Georgia State Department of Labor. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and visiting with family and friends through the years. She lived the past three years at Savannah Court of Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA.

 She attended many Baptist churches during her 97 years and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. “The instant the soul, that has accepted Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Savior, releases from the human body there is light, there is peace, there is freedom, and there is home.” In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation, 1280 Banter Street, Athens, GA 30606.
