La Verne Bush Woodard, 81, of Merritt Island, FL passed away June 19, 2022. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Born in Macon, GA, she moved to the Space Coast in 1971. She was preceded in death by her husband Moyce Woodard of 55 years.

La Verne Bush Woodard, 81, of Merritt Island, FL passed away June 19, 2022. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Born in Macon, GA, she moved to the Space Coast in 1971. She was preceded in death by her husband Moyce Woodard of 55 years.

She graduated from Webster University with an MA in Management/Human Resource Development. She was an active member of the KARS Ceramic Club, and her Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) sorority for many years, holding multiple offices, including Florida State Council President. She retired from NASA as a Logistics Manager and continued her love of space, volunteering as a NASA Docent.

She is survived by daughters, Susan (Jim), Lisa (Rob) and Wendy; grandchildren, Joshua (Alysha), Holly (Brian), Chriss, Ryan, LaChelle, Landon; great-grandson, Elias.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 24, 2022, from 1:00PM-2:00PM, with the service to begin at 2PM at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home in Merritt Island.

A graveside committal service will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, June 26, at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Arnold Rye officiating.
