LAURA LEIGH TAYLOR, age 24, of Chauncey, GA, died Friday, February 4, 2022, at her residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, February 12, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Mike Grenade officiating, with interment in Ocmulgee Cemetery.

 Laura was born in Dublin and of the Baptist Faith. She was a 2016 graduate of Dodge County High School, where she was a dedicated and focused student and excelled as a cheerleader, attended Middle Georgia State University, and was a 2020 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in nursing. She worked for Dodge County Hospital as a nurse and was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, and niece, who enjoyed reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends. Laura was preceded in death by her Paternal Grandparents, George Edward Taylor, and Lillian Rogers Taylor.

 She is survived by her Mother and Father – Gerry Bacon Taylor and George Lee Taylor of Chauncey; Brother – Walt Taylor (Susan Gareis) of Chauncey; Boyfriend – Foster Johnson of Buford; Maternal Grandparents – Edward Bacon and Clara Mae Powell Bacon; Aunts and Uncles – Cindy Nelson (Clint), Teresa Sanders (Chris), Clarence Taylor (Lori), all of Eastman, Fay Reich (Tim) of Hawkinsville, and Mitzi Studstill (Jay) of Dublin; Cousins – Candice Taylor, Jason Studstill, James Studstill (Rebecca), Calla Saenz (Zack), Caitlin Hubble (David), Alison Bryan, Slade Bryan, Jordan Sanders (Thomas Barrentine), and Jaylee Sanders; Great Aunts and Great Uncles – Johnnie Taylor Coleman, Gloria Taylor Sheffield, W.H. Powell, Billy Joe Bacon (Lynn), and Frank Bacon (Charlotte); Numerous Friends.

 The family may be contacted at the Taylor residence, 2360 Hwy #165, Chauncey, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 6:00PM-8:00PM Friday, February 11. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to the Dodge County Hospital Foundation, 901 Griffin Ave, Eastman, GA 31023.
