MR. FREDERICK LAWRENCE “LARRY” SPENCE, age 67, of Chauncey, GA, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025, at Dodge County Hospital.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Larry was born in Sylvester, GA on April 5, 1957, and lived much of his life in Albany, GA. He was of the Christian Faith, a 1975 graduate of Westover High School in Albany, GA, and worked for over 42 years as a General Contractor as owner and operator of APEX Painting and Repair. He later moved to Chauncey, GA in 2015, where he made his home and a new life through Jay Bird Springs Ministries, where served on the ministry as part of the team. He enjoyed watching tv, hunting, fishing, going on trips to the beach, spending time with family and friends, and was affectionately known as “Boo” to his family and friends. Larry was the son of the late Emily Geeslin Spence and James Leon Spence, Jr and was preceded in death by his Brothers, Stanley Spence and James Leon “Jimmy” Spence, III.
He is survived by his Son – Brandon Spence (Summer Thompson) of Chauncey, GA; Sister and Brother-in-law – Judy and Jeff Heard of Newnan, GA; Nieces and Nephews – Nick Spence (Erin) of Sylvester, GA, Emily Gates (Wes), and Jenna Lawler (Will), both of Newnan, GA; Great-Nieces and Nephews – Ava Spence, Hattie Gates, Mary Ellis Gates, Luke Lawler, and Bennett Lawler; Numerous cousins and friends.
