 MR. KENNETH CLARK JONES, AGE 83, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, August 18, 2024, after an extended illness. 
         Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Antioch #2 Baptist Church Cemetery in Milan, GA, with Dr. Jerry Peele and Rev. Todd Crosby officiating. 
         Kenneth was born on Sunday, January 26, 1941, in Milan, Georgia. He was the youngest of 6 children born to the late Monroe C. Jones and Ruby Evans Jones. He was ordained as a deacon at Antioch Baptist Church #2 in Milan and later served at Eastman First Baptist Church. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Eastman, Georgia, where he faithfully worshiped and served the Lord. Kenneth was a 1959 graduate of Milan High School and later attended Middle Georgia College and Georgia Southern College, where he studied Business Administration. He was co-owner of the family business, M.C. Jones Lumber Company, where he worked until they sold the Company in 1984. He later worked as an insurance agent for Woodmen of the World for several years in the 1980s. He served as a consultant to several lumber companies in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Michigan from 1984 to 2005, and last worked in Hastings, MI as a General Manager for VKW Hardwoods until his retirement in 2005. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He enjoyed woodworking, building furniture, and restoring antique furniture. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his Daughter, Amelia Susan Jones, Sisters, Geraldine Jones Kirkley and Mary Jones Grimsley, Brothers, Billy Colon Jones and Monroe Charles Jones, and recently, a Sister-in-law, Susan Deyo Waldon.
          He leaves behind his Wife of 60 years – Janice Deyo Jones of Eastman, GA; his 2 Sons – Monroe Clark “Marty” Jones (Leslie) of Tampa, FL and Kenneth Coleman “Casey” Jones of Temple, GA;  2 Grandchildren – Lanie Jones and Nate Jones, both of Tampa, FL; Sister – Janet Jones Weatherly (Guy Jr.); Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law – Pat Jones, Kay Jones, both of Milan, GA, David Deyo (Jan) of McRae-Helena, GA, Bill Deyo (Linda) of Opelika, AL, and Jimmy Waldon of Eastman, GA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and a small group of dear lifelong friends.  
            The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 23, 2024, 6:00PM-8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Georgia Children’s Home, 9420 Blackshear Hwy SE, Baxley, GA, 31513 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
