Obituary for Kathryn Moore

MRS. KATHRYN LAVERNE MOORE, age 83, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Dodge County Hospital.

 Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, April 3, at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Daniel Cook officiating.

 Mrs. Moore was born and raised in Dodge County and a member of Cottondale Baptist Church. After school she went to work at Eastman Cotton Mill and later Reeves Brothers, where she worked for over 25 years until they closed the mill. She later worked at Goody’s Manufacturing for several years until the company closed, where she went to work at North Dodge Elementary in the lunchroom for several years until she retired in the late 2000s. She loved her family and was loved by them. Kathryn enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, and taking care of her dogs including her pet canine companion, Zoey. She was the daughter of the late Thelma Louise Daniel Moore and Robert Lee Moore and was preceded in death by 5 Siblings, Betty Lott, Ronald “Duck” Moore, David Moore, Bill Moore, Gerald Moore, and Bobby Moore.

 She is survived by her 3 Sisters – Laney Bond, Faye Thompson, and Kay Mattair, all of Eastman; 2 Sisters-in-law – Leola Moore of Eastman and Patricia Moore of New Mexico; Aunt – Peggy Lee of Fort Valley; Special Friend – Gwen Catoe of Eastman; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, and Great-Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Laney Bond, 50 Donald Lane, Eastman. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to Cottondale Baptist Church, 5930 Leitch St, Eastman, GA 31023.
