MRS. KATHLEEN HENDLEY FLEMING, age 84, of Bonaire, GA, died Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, GA.

 Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, June 4, Chauncey City Cemetery, with Rev. Jack Lee officiating.

 Kathleen was born in Collins, GA, raised in Macon, GA, and was a 1956 graduate of Miller High School in Bibb County. She married in the late 1950s and was a mother to three wonderful children. She worked several jobs between the late 1950s and 1970s including at Purina Mills in Macon. During this time, she met Horace Fleming through a working engagement, and they later married in 1974. They lived in Chauncey from that point until 2019 when she moved to Bonaire to be closer to family. During her time living in Chauncey, she worked for over twenty years as a bank teller and loan officer at Citizens Bank and Trust in Chauncey. She was a member of Antioch #2 Baptist Church in Milan and enjoyed sewing, baking, spending time with family and friends, and reading her Bible daily. She was affectionately called “Granny” by her grandchildren, who all loved her dearly. Kathleen was the daughter of the late Rubye Lynn Carter and Comer C. Carter and was preceded in death by her Husband, Horace Fleming, a Son, Mike McCarthy, Brothers, Lamar Hendley and Breece Hendley, and her longtime Companion, Curtis Jones.

 She is survived by her Daughter – Kathy Conkle (Joey) of Macon; Sons – Marty McCarthy (Marti) of Jacksonville, FL and Michael Fleming (Kristi) of Brunswick; 8 Grandchildren – James Alligood (Jessica), Kayci Unsworth (Bennett), Kristin Hester, Austin Conkle, Corey McCarthy, Mark Migliore, Michael Fleming, and Kelly Fleming; 7 Great-Grandchildren – Taylor Alligood, Bailey Alligood, Chandler Unsworth, Carter Unsworth, Jimmy Hester, Maverick Migliore and Lexi Migliore; Aunt – Lucille Poole of Smyrna, GA; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins including – Brenda Dixon (Bill) of Smyrna, GA.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Kathy and Joey Conkle, 104 Coley Lake Rd., Macon, and will receive friends at Antioch #2 Baptist Church Social Hall following services on Sunday, June 4. In addition to flowers, contributions can be made to Antioch #2 Baptist Church, Milan, GA 31060.
