MRS. JUDY CAROL MOORE BARRETT, age 69, of Eastman, GA, died, Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Mr. Rand Moore and Mr. Keith Wenger officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

 Mrs. Barrett was born in Swainsboro, GA, was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Kingdom Hall in Eastman. She was a 1969 graduate of Adrian High School and attended Middle Georgia College. After school Judy lived in Soperton and worked in migrant affairs and housing placement for the Telemon Corporation. She later moved to Vidalia where she continued to work for the company and was co-owner and operator of Robert Toombs Inn and Restaurant in Lyons for over 4 years. She moved to Eastman in 1994 to manage the site office for the Welfare to Work program. She was a retired training specialist for the State of Georgia and RESA for over 20 years. Mrs. Barrett was a faithful servant to Jehovah and devoted her life to following him. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening and interior decorating. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting and drawing. Judy was the daughter of the late Alene Giles Moore and Meedy Gark Moore and was preceded in death her Husband of 39 years, William “Jiggs” Barrett and Brother, Roger Moore.

 Survivors: 4 Sons – William “Billy” Barrett, Jr. of Hampton, Michael Douglas (Mandy) of Adrian, Shon Douglas (Cheyenne) of Beech Island, SC, and Joshua Barrett (Katie) of Eastman; 8 Grandchildren – Dylan Bailey, Elaine DeLeon, Courtney Douglas, Kelsey Kight (Brandon), Nathan Jewell, Christopher Barrett, Leigha Barrett, and Harper Barrett; 2 Great-Grandsons – Carter Kight and Aaron Smith; Brother – Michael Moore (Sandra) of Alto; 2 Sisters-in-law – Ruby Cavannah of Adrian and Winnette Moore of Norristown; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the Barrett residence, 5427 1st Street, Eastman and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 12:00PM – 2:00PM Wednesday, April 14. In addition to flowers, contributions may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 16 Warren Way, Eastman, GA 31023.
