DAVID JUDSON “JUDD” MULLIS, age 48, of Cochran, GA, died Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at his residence.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, February 11, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Bill Mullis officiating.

 Judd was born in Macon, GA, a member of Limestone Baptist Church in Cochran, and lived all his life in Dodge or Bleckley County. He was a 1993 graduate of Dodge County High School and later graduated from Middle Georgia College in 1995. He also attended Mercer University, where he majored in music. During and after college he worked for several years as a percussion tech for Bleckley County High School under the leadership of Rick Kimmel and for Perry High School under the leadership of Miguel Castro. Judd also conducted numerous high school band camps in the Middle Georgia Area. He played drums for several bands over the years including his band “The Bogarts”. He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Estaben and Delia Solis, Paternal Grandparents, Fulton and Vivian Mullis, Aunt, Carlene James, Uncle, Sidney Mullis, and Cousin, Michael Mullis.

 He is survived by his Mother and Father – Rosie Solis Mullis and Charles Ruthel Mullis, both of Cochran; Brother – Denny Mullis (Tammy) of Cordele; Niece and Nephew – Savannah Mullis and Brandon Brown; Aunts and Uncles – Terry Collins, Tim Mullis both of Eastman, Sue Parker Mullis of Cochran, Becky Solis, Ruben Solis, David Solis (Elia), all of Austin, TX, and Dan Solis (Manuela) of Dallas, TX; Numerous cousins, in both Texas and Georgia, and a plethora of friends.

 The family may be contacted at the Mullis residence, 161 Pineland Estates Rd., Cochran, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Saturday, February 11. The family has requested the omittance of all flowers and would prefer donations be made to the Music Program of Middle Georgia State University c/o The MGA Foundation Music Program Scholarship, 100 University Parkway, Macon, GA 31206, which was Judd’s love and passion.
