MR. JUARL SPIRES, age 77, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Bryant Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Cochran, GA.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00AM Friday, April 28, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Myron Parkerson officiating.

 Mr. Spires was born in Milan and a member of Cottondale Baptist Church. In his younger years, he farmed with W.D. Knowles and later worked as a textile worker at Reeves Brothers, Inc. until the company closed in the mid-1980s. He later worked at Robins AFB with a contracting firm for several years. In the early 1990s, he and his brother Freeman started J&F Rabbit Farm in Eastman, where they sold rabbits and fish bait. In the late 1990s, he retired and enjoyed a happy and blissful retirement with his wife. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, watching westerns on TV, and spending time with his family. Juarl was the son of the late Suzanne Lowery Spires and Freeman Spires, Sr., and was preceded in death by his loving and faithful Wife, Kemple Westbrook Spires, and his Siblings, Alton Spires, Ernest Spires, Freeman Spires, Jr., Bo Spires, Gladys Hill, and Mary Giddens.

 He is survived by his Daughter – Kori S. Kennedy (Brett) of Rhine; Son – Mike Spires (Diane) of Eastman; 7 Grandchildren – Eric Spires (Dana), Victoria Tedders (J.T.), Hannah Hilliard, Josh McCranie, Austin Roberson, Kady Lee Peterson, and Kali Peterson; Several Great-Grandchildren; 2 Brothers – Jack Spires and Guy Spires (Sherry), both of Eastman; 3 Sisters-in-law – Demple Dunn, Judy Allen (Furman), both of Eastman, and Carolyn Attaway (S.J.) of Chauncey; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Mike Spires, 2188 Cochran Hwy., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Friday, April 28.
