MR. JOSHUA PRESTON COOK, age 33, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Wauchula, FL.
Joshua was born July 3, 1989, in Arcadia, FL and was of the Christian faith. He was a 2007 graduate of Sebring High School before enlisting into the United States Army. He was stationed at Ft. Drum, NY and was in the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, working as an aviation engine mechanic. He served 1 year in Iraq and 2 years in Afghanistan during wartime. He attained the rank of Sergeant during his time in the US Army. He married in 2010 while still in service and after service he returned to Eastman, GA, to be near his dad. He also worked for several years as an aircraft parts machinist at PPP in Douglas, GA. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks and was an avid Florida Gators football fan. He enjoyed traveling and comedy. Joshua was a loving and dependable husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Sharon Cross.
He is survived by his Wife – Kimberly Kamanuwai Cook of Eastman; Mother – Karen Lamb Cook of Sebring, FL; Father – Preston Dewayne Cook (Sheila) of Eastman; 2 Sisters – Alena Cook of Sebring, FL, and Stephanie Cook Halveston of Zolfo Springs, FL; Brother – Christopher Cook (Cynthia) of Lake City, FL; Step-Brother – Mathew Sheme (Melissa) of Adrian, GA; Maternal Grandmothers – Charleen Skyrme of Sebring, FL and Betty Lamb of Morristown, TN; Aunt – Kathy Jarnagin (Byron) of Arcadia, FL; 2 Uncles – Terry Lawson (Krystal) of Elizabethon, TN, and Donald Cook of Snead, FL; 5 Stepchildren – Kealii Cabral of California, Richard Baang Jr. of Ewa Beach, HI, Daniel Baang of Ewa Beach, HI, Samuel Baang of Aiea, HI, and Makanalei Baang of Aiea, HI; Several Nieces and Nephews including Joshua Isaiah Senquis of Lakeland, FL; Numerous Cousins; Best Friends – Bradley Looney of Toccoa, GA, and Justin Speed of Fallon, NV.
