MR. JOHN CONRAD WAHL, JR., age 92, of Chauncey, GA, died Saturday, February 4, 2023, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 Wednesday, February 8, at Sweet Home Baptist Church with interment at Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Dahl McDermitt, Jr. and Dr. Donnie Sutton officiating.

 Mr. Wahl was born in Chauncey and a 1947 graduate of Chauncey High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Wahl was one of the last Railways Post Office clerks running the Atlanta–Augusta and the Atlanta–Jacksonville Line. He worked for the United States Postal Service from 1970 to 1985. He then worked at Wholesale Builders Supply for 10 years. Mr. Wahl was an active and dedicated church member and a mason since 1982 in Milan Lodge #393 where he served as secretary for 26 years. Conrad enjoyed working and tending his cows, gardening, fishing, and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was the son of the late Lillian Bell Wahl and John Conrad Wahl and was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lois Taylor Wahl.

 He is survived by 2 Sons – William C. “Bill” Wahl (Sheri) and Kahn T. Wahl (Michelle) both of Chauncey; 1 Daughter – Wendy Wahl Williams (Morris) of Chauncey; 10 Grandchildren – Justin Wahl, Noah Wahl, Bailey Bryant (Colby), Briley Wahl, Gabe Wahl, Tucker Wahl, AJ Williams, Alston Williams, Carli Dennis and Connor Dennis; 5 Great Grandchildren – Bo, Sam, Luke, Sage and Laura; 3 Sisters – Doris Powell, Rita Moulton (Charles) and Betty Yawn (Joe) all of Chauncey 2 Brothers – Henry Jack Wahl (Connie) and Jerry K. Wahl (Shann) both of Chauncey; 2 Sister-In-Laws – Gail T. Monroe (Ron) and Glynda Taylor both of Milan; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the Wahl residence, 1511 Chauncey-Rhine Hwy, Chauncey, GA 31011 and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel, Tuesday, February 7, from 6:00PM-8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Sweet Home Baptist Church, P.O. Box 65, Chauncey, GA 31011, and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
