MR. JOEY FRED YANCEY, age 66, of Rhine, GA, died Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at his residence in Rhine.

 Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Friday, June 2, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Jody Yancey officiating.

 Joey was born in McRae, GA, but has resided in Rhine all his life. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, a 1974 graduate of Dodge County High School, and a former supervisor for Gilman Paper Company for over twenty-five years. He farmed most of his life on the family farm, worked for Walker Sign Company for many years, and was a delivery driver for Rhine Drugs for over five years. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and providing for them. He especially loved his grandsons and was proud of all their accomplishments for they were his world. His grandsons equally admired their granddaddy and couldn’t have asked for a better “Papa”. He enjoyed antiquing, woodworking, going to flea markets, acquiring collectibles, and cooking. Joey was the son of the late Hazel Cook Yancey and Jessie Willard Yancey and was preceded in death by his Niece, Dana Yancey.

 He is survived by his Daughter – Laura Yancey Watkins (Jay) of Rhine; Grandchildren – Jace Watkins, Jess Watkins, and Jaycob Joey Watkins; Sister – Dianne Yancey Nash of Rhine; Brothers – Jerry Yancey (Monette) and Danny Yancey, both of Rhine; Nieces and Nephews – Renae Rogers (James), Jody Yancey (Tanya), both of Rhine, and Scott Hall (Betsy) of Eastman; Several Great-Nieces and Great- Nephews; Aunt – Henrietta “Girley” Anderson of McRae; Numerous Cousins and Friends.

 The family may be contacted at the Yancey Family Cookhouse, 1675 Telfair Line Rd., Rhine, and will receive friends at the Yancey Family Cookhouse following services on Friday, June 2. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
