MRS. AVA JOANNE LAWSON SPLAWN, age 77, of Warner Robins, GA, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at The Lodge in Warner Robins.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, January 22, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Dwaine Dunn officiating, with interment in Antioch #1 Cemetery in Eastman.

 Mrs. Splawn was born and raised in Jackson, GA, before moving to Eastman, GA where she attended Dodge County High School. After high school, she married and moved to Jacksonville, FL in the mid-1960s, where she began her family, before moving back to Eastman a few years later. The family then relocated to Warner Robins, where she worked for a few years as a waitress, before living for a brief time in Virginia. The family returned to Warner Robins in the 1970s, where she worked as a seamstress at a local textile company in Perry. She later went to work for General Salvage, Inc. in its production department before becoming the office manager. During her ten-year career with General Salvage, Inc., she enjoyed traveling with her husband, Joe, and was fortunate to go on many trips over the years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, who enjoyed watching crime-based TV programs. Joanne was the daughter of the late Ruby Allen Lawson and John Warren Lawson, Sr. and was preceded in death by her Husband, Joe C. Splawn, Son, Steven Wade Snellgrove, and 2 Brothers, Harold Lawson, and Michael Lawson.

 She is survived by her 2 Sons – Robert L. Snellgrove, Jr. (Christina) of Warner Robins and Timothy Whalen (Julie Ann) of Newport News, VA; 5 Grandchildren – Sterling Snellgrove of Macon, Harley Snellgrove Shealey (Wesley) of Columbia, SC, Robby Snellgrove (Seira) of Winston, GA, Amber Kidder (Tim) of Buford, and Christopher Whalen of Mechanicsville, VA; Several Great-Grandchildren; Sister – Susie Lawson Roach (Dennis) of Cleveland, GA; Brother – Johnny Lawson (Kitty) of McDonough; Sister-in-law – Pat Lawson of Grenada, MS; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the Splawn residence, 124 Lincoln Street, Warner Robins, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Saturday, January 22.
