MR. JIMMY ARNOLD YAWN, age 72, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, May 16, at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Daniel Cook officiating.
Jimmy was born in Rhine, of the Baptist Faith, a 1966 graduate of Dodge County High School, and served as a Spec5 in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart and several other commendations. He was a former Investigator for the Dodge County Sheriffs Department for over 18 years, a former heavy equipment operator, and a owner and operator of Yawn Trucking for over 8 years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and being outdoors, was a hard worker, and a true family man. Jimmy was the son of the late Lizzie Brown Yawn and Jim Thomas Yawn and was preceded in death by a Son, Michael Shane Yawn.
He is survived by his Wife of 53 years – Gloria Dixon Yawn of Eastman; Son – Cale D. Yawn of Eastman; Grandson – Tyler Yawn (Courtney Jones) of Milan; Great-Granddaughter – Keely Wilkinson of Eastman; Sister – Annette Vaughn of Eastman; 3 Sisters-in-law – Bernice Wright (Harris) of Glen Burney, MD, Brenda Southerland (Larry) of Eastman, and Kathy Moore (Keith) of Savannah; Brother-in-law – Robert “Bob” Dixon (Brenna) of Stillwater, OK; Several Nieces and Nephews.
