MR. JAMES HOMER “JIMMY” PRUETT, SR., age 91, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.

 Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, March 30, at El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. John Cadwell officiating.

 Jimmy was born in Eastman, a member of El Bethel Baptist Church, and attended school in Chauncey before enlisting into service in 1949. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and later married and moved to Daytona, FL. He became a sheet metal mechanic in 1956 while living in Daytona and worked at Daytona Metal Works for several years. He worked several jobs over the years before opening Pruett Sheet Metal in Eastman and later Dublin. In 1966, he owned and operated Eastman Roofing and Sheet Metal where he worked for many years before retiring. In later years he worked at the family business, Dodge Heating and Air and later Pruett Heating and Airconditioning. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather who was affectionately known as “Jimbo” to his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, music festivals, camping, taking naps, lollipops, and Mrs. Mazie’s cooking. He was the son of the late Estelle Mullis Pruett and Homer Brown Pruett and was preceded in death by his Wife of over 70 years, Mazie Cooper Pruett, and his Siblings, Louise Kirkley Brown, Carolyn Yawn, and Bobby Pruett.

 He is survived by his 6 Daughters – Roni Ward (Echard) of Dexter, Robin Davis (Andy) of Bartow, FL, Janice Cadwell (John), Patrice Rozar (Jimmy), Audrey Davis (Tony), and Vicki Noles (Mike), all of Eastman; 2 Sons – Jimmy Pruett, Jr. (Casey) and Jessie Pruett (Paige), both of Eastman; 17 Grandchildren; 39 Great-Grandchildren; 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren; Sisters-in-law and Brother-in-law – Connie Cooper of Chauncey, Vivian Cooper, and Carl E. Cooper both of Macon; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Jessie and Paige Pruett, 1799 Rhine Hwy., Eastman, and will receive friends in El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery from 10:30AM-11:00AM before services on Thursday. Mr. Pruett will lie in state from 1:00PM-5:00PM Wednesday, March 29 at Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home.
