MR. JAMES “JIMMY” DANIEL McCRANIE, age 72, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Dodge County Hospital.

 A private family memorial service will be held on Friday, January 15, at Poplar Springs Cemetery, with Rev. Gerald Conley officiating.

 Jimmy was born in Bibb County, a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a former employee at Robins AFB for over 18 years and a retired construction services officer for the Department of Corrections for over 15 years. He was a deacon and member at Poplar Springs Baptist Church and was an ordained Baptist minister. He was instrumental in helping build Grace Baptist Church, which was the first church he pastored. He also pastored at New Union Baptist Church, New Bethel Baptist Church, and Eastman Christian Fellowship. He was a former Brotherhood Director for the Dodge County Baptist Association and a sales representative in his later years for Yoder Storage Buildings. Jimmy loved building, tinkering, fishing, being outdoors and putting up chain link fences. He was the son of the late Ruby Coody McCranie and James A. McCranie, and was preceded in death by 3 Siblings, Robert McCranie, Jerald McCranie, and Dorothy Ann Allen.

 He is survived his Wife of 54 years – Deborah Lewis McCranie of Eastman, GA; Daughter – Shannon Denise “Cissy” McCranie Godwin (Charles) of Eastman, GA; 2 Sons – Anthony Derek “Tony” McCranie (Lisa) of McDonough, GA and James Clayton “Clay” McCranie (Brenda) of Wyoming, GA; 6 Grandchildren – Jessica McCranie, Shayne Shipley, Kaleb McCranie (Brittany), Kasi Shipley, Caitlin McCranie, and Brianna Bryant; 3 Step-Grandchildren – Taylor Godwin, Trey Godwin, and Jasmine Rodriguez; 3 Great-Grandchildren – Kenleigh Scott, Skylar McCranie, and Graham Bartholme; Sister – Nellie Ruth Jones of Gresston; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
