MR. JIMMY HARRELL, age 80, of Rhine, GA, died Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, GA.

 Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Tuesday, September 10, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ronny Moore officiating, with interment in Sugar Creek Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery in Chauncey, GA.

 Jimmy was born on June 19, 1944, in Hawkinsville, GA, to the late Minnie Lee Harrell and Matthew Harrell. He was raised around Soperton, GA and later Chester, GA. He left school at a young age to go to work in the tobacco fields to help his family and later moved to Chattanooga, TN where he worked as a painter for passenger trains during the 1970s. He moved to the Laurens County area and worked as a construction worker for Dublin Industrial Services for over fifteen years. He later moved to Dodge County and was a member of Sugar Creek Congregational Methodist Church in Chauncey, GA, where he used his talent as a guitar player during many services. Jimmy loved music, especially bluegrass gospel music. He was highly proficient at playing the guitar, mandolin, and was well known for his dobro skills. He played in public gatherings for many years with local groups. He loved fishing, watching westerns, and reading Louis L’Amour western books. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family. Along with his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his Wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Harrell, and a Great-Grandson, Christopher Lane Claxton, and his Siblings, Henry Harrell, Fred Harrell, Marshall Harrell, Johnny Harrell, and Tincey Harrell Cross.

 He is survived by his Children – Kim Pugh (Chris) of Chattanooga, TN, Lisa Foskey (Ricky) of Scott, GA, Ruthie Rohen (Rip) of Signal Mountain, TN, Jimmy “Stuart” Harrell (Nancy), David Harrell (Jessica) both of East Dublin, GA, and Marci Harrell Gregory (Max) of Chattanooga, TN; Step-Children – LeAnn Bowen (Wade) and Jeremy Swift (Tracy), both of Rhine, GA; Grandchildren – Noah, Justin, Christopher, Johnathon, Jeremy, Valya, Josey, Cyndal, Courtney, Caleb, Holden, Loralei, Brianna, Braleigh, Bristol, Jeremy Jr., Ryelee, Kyle, Makayla, and Brittany; Great-Grandchildren – Alyssa, Tyler, and Lucas; Sister – Carolyn Harrell Johnson (L.S.) of Scotland, GA; Brother – Randall Harrell of Soperton, GA; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law – Kathy Cortez (Rigo) of Douglas, GA, Beverly McCranie (Tony Graham) of Eastman, GA, Lori Rowell (Stephen Dorris) of Milan, GA, and Benny Peacock, Jr., (Joanne) of Lawrenceville, GA; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 12:00PM-1:00PM Tuesday, September 10. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to Sugar Creek Congregational Methodist Church, Chauncey, GA.
