MR. JERRY WAYNE “SEC” FORDHAM, age 77, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA.

MR. JERRY WAYNE “SEC” FORDHAM, age 77, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Roy Williams, Mr. Jay Jones, Mr. Clay Jones, and Mr. Mike Leonard officiating.

 Sec was a lifelong resident of Eastman, GA, of the Baptist Faith, and a 1964 graduate of Dodge County High School, where he was a star quarterback on the football team and excelled in other sports. He graduated from the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy in 1969. After graduating from UGA he worked for several years before moving back to Eastman in the 1970s and opened College Street Pharmacy, which he operated for many years. After selling his pharmacy, he worked as an independent pharmacist for Eastman Drugs, Fred’s, and the Prescription Shop and later retired after 50 years as a pharmacist. Sec was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, enjoyed watching NASCAR, going on family trips, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was the son of the late Virginia “Gin” Roland Fordham and Ebon E. “E.E.” Fordham, and was preceded in death by his Daughter, Amy Fordham, Sister, Cathy Fordham Hatcher, and Faithful Canine Companion, Munson.

 He is survived by his Loving and Dedicated Wife – Gwen Janice Jones Fordham of Eastman, GA; Son – Brett Fordham (J.J.) of Eastman, GA; Step-Daughter – Carlye Kennedy (Jeff Crowe) of Eastman, GA; Step-Son – Brett Kennedy (Kori) of Rhine, GA; Grandchildren – Gage Fordham, Camden Crowe, Harlie Crowe, and Tyler Crowe (Jordan Knight); Brother-in-law – Ronnie “Scoot” Jones of Milan, GA; Aunt and Uncle – Carloyn Martin and Steve Roland (Linda), both of Eastman, GA; Several Nieces and Nephews, and Numerous Cousins.

 The family may be contacted at the Fordham residence, 1208 4th Avenue, Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Wednesday, January 3, 2024. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to the Sure Foundation, 415 Griffin Avenue, Eastman, GA or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
