MRS. JEANETTE PAYNE FORDHAM, age 82, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, November 27, 2022, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, November 30, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Chad Hendley and Rev. Ron Jones officiating, with interment in Cottondale Cemetery.
Jeanette was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Cottondale Baptist Church, and a former seamstress for C & J Manufacturing and Hanes Shirt Factory for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved going to Wal-Mart and Dollar General, working in her yard, gardening, and attending her church and worshipping the Lord. Jeanette was the daughter of the late Laura Mullis Payne and J.B. Payne, and was preceded in death by her Husband, James Robert Fordham, Daughters, Cathy Rogers and Judy Spires, Sister, Lucy Payne Iler, and Brother, Junior Payne.
She is survived by her 5 Grandchildren – Robbie Fordham, Susie Warren, both of Eastman, Nicholas Bentley (Holly) of McRae, Kaylene Bentley Bowen, and Jody Crawford (Tracy), both of Hawkinsville; 7 Great-Grandchildren – Emilee Sparrow, Mason LaFavor, Vance Fordham, Addison Warren, Anna-Leigh Stanford, Morgan Bentley, and Gracie Bowen; Sister – Desser Smith of Eastman; Son-in-law – Jesse Rogers of Eastman; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
The family may be contacted at the Fordham residence, 186 Old Dodge High Rd., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Wednesday, November 30.
