MRS. JANICE PEACOCK FRIEL, age 72, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, September 23, 2019 at Serenity Place Hospice in Dublin, GA.

 Memorial services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, September 28, at Plainfield Baptist Church, with Rev. Tim Tanner officiating, with interment in Plainfield Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Mrs. Friel was a native of Eastman, a beloved member of Plainfield Baptist Church, a 1964 graduate of Columbus High School, and a 1977 graduate of Auburn University. She was a career chemist for BAC Products and a pharmacy technician for The Medical Center of Columbus for several years. She was on an endless quest to explore family genealogy and history as evidenced by her membership in both the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Janice was a voracious reader, enjoyed gardening, loved her family, the arts, experiencing different cultures, traveling abroad, and had a deep need to know it all. Janice was daughter of the late Edna Ryan Peacock and C. Hudson Peacock and was preceded in death by her Sister, Barbara L. Peacock Fields and a beloved Cousin, Suzanne “Suzi” Ryan Waguespack.

 Survivors: Daughter – Whitney Weigel (Aaron) of Tampa, FL; Granddaughter – Clare Lyn Weigel of Tampa, FL; Nephew – Ryan Michael Story Fields; Many Beloved Cousins – Henry Walker (Cheryl), Tom Peacock, Richard Jones (June), Robert E. Ryan, III (Mary Gene), Diane Ryan Holt, Jeanne Ryan Thompson, Judy Ryan Askin, Gerald Ryan, Jr., and Robert Ryan.

 The family may be contacted at the Friel residence, 4100 Dublin Hwy., Eastman, and will receive friends in Plainfield Baptist Church from 1:00PM-2:00PM Saturday, September 28. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the Plainfield Baptist Church Building Fund.
