Mrs. Janet Jones Weatherly, age 86, of Cadwell, GA, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Bryant Nursing Home in Cochran, GA.

 The family will receive family and friends at Antioch #2 Baptist Church from 2:00PM-3:00PM Friday, August 29. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Friday, August 29, at Antioch #2 Baptist Church in Milan, GA, with Mr. Emory Peacock and Rev. Tim Brown officiating, with interment in Antioch #2 Baptist Church Cemetery. Antioch #2 Baptist Church is located at 180 Antioch South Road, Milan GA 31060.

 Janet was born in Milan, GA on March 16, 1939, to the late Ruby Evans Jones and Monroe C. Jones. She was a graduate of Milan High School, where she excelled in basketball, and attended Middle Georgia College, where she played basketball, cheered, and was the “May Queen”. She later attended Georgia Southern University before marrying the love of her life, Guy Weatherly, on August 20, 1960. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was an accomplished artist and painted numerous beautiful paintings. She taught art lessons at her shop, The Brush Stroke, for many years, and traveled to art seminars across the United States through the years. During one particular year, she made an ornament for the White House Christmas Tree. Janet was a dedicated member of Antioch #2 Baptist Church in Milan, and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, going to thrift stores, reading, working on crossword puzzles, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Geraldine J. Kirkley, Mary J. Grimsley, Billy C. Jones, Monroe Charles Jones, and Kenneth Clark Jones, and Brothers-in-law, Grady Weatherly, Jim Free, Loran Grimsley, and Oscar Kirkley, and Sister-in-law Lila W. Jordan.

 She is survived by her Husband of 65 years – Guy “Skeeter” Weatherly, Jr. of Cadwell, GA; Daughters – Salena “Cindy” Arrington (Bob) of Kathleen, Sabrina “Sibbie” Lyons (Larry) of Cumming, and Michelle “Shelley” Collins (Bryan) of Perry; Grandchildren – Robert Arrington (Brooke), Samantha Arrington Kirk (Clint), Stephen Lyons, Shane Lyons, Anna Collins Ellis (Drew), and Jacob Collins (Chloe); Great-Grandchildren- Drake Arrington, Bennett Arrington, Mason Kirk, Dawson Kirk, Baine Ellis, Cannon Ellis, Nadayah Collins, Danayah Collins, and Levelle Collins; Sisters-in-law – Pat Jones, Kay Jones, both of Milan, Janice Jones of Eastman, Tot Free of Swainsboro, and Lila Faye Weatherly and Jane Epting (Richard) both of Dublin; Numerous nieces and nephews.
