MR. JAMES ROLAND “JAMIE” ROGERS, age 60, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Dodge County Hospital.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00PM Friday, July 25, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Larry Mullis and Mr. Phillip Cadwell officiating.

 Jamie was born in Macon, GA on January 27, 1965, to the late Mary Ellen Douglas Rogers and John Dopson Rogers. He was of the Christian Faith and a 1983 graduate of Dodge County High School. He married soon after graduating high school and was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Britney, in 1988. He went to work for Winn Dixie in 1982 and later worked for Food Lion for several years, before it became Harvey’s, where he was the Produce Manager for over 24 years. He was also the foreman for Southland Wood Company for many years and enjoyed logging and being in the woods. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Eastman Fire Department for over 15 years. In 2020 Jamie married his wife, Melanie, and enjoyed almost 6 years of marriage together. He also enjoyed winding down with a “cold one” in the evenings, riding dirt roads in his “Mufasa” truck, and spending time with his family, especially his grandboys, who called him “G-Daddy”. Jamie was preceded in death by his parents, and Infant Grandson, Xander Rogers.

 He is survived by his Wife – Melanie Fordham Rogers of Eastman, GA; Daughter – Britney Rogers of Eastman, GA; Step-daughters – Gracie Hughes of Eastman, GA and Madison Maners of Columbus, GA; Grandsons – River Rogers Mullis and Rafe Rogers Mullis; Brother – Douglas Rogers (Sunny) of Eastman, GA; Nieces and Nephews – Jason Rogers (Amanda), Grant Rogers (Yanira), Josh Bohannon (Noelle), Katie Knight (Brannon), and Kerri Henderson (Dustin); Former Wife – Whitney Rogers of Eastman, GA; Father-in-law – William David Fordham of Eastman, GA; Mother-in-law – Kay Mattair of Eastman, GA; Sister-in-law – Davina Rutland of Cochran, GA; Numerous cousins and friends; Survived by several canine and feline companions including his favorite cats, Booger and Bat Baby.

 The family may be contacted at the Rogers residence, 3516 Fair Haven Rd., Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Friday, July 25. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Faithful Hearts Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 5014, Eastman, GA 31023.
