MR. JACK W. TAYLOR, age 81, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at his residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Friday, May 14, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Donnie Sutton and Rev. Robbie Jones officiating, with interment in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Jack was born and raised in Eastman, a member of Zebulon Baptist Church, and attended Dodge County High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army. After his military service, he worked with Blue Bird Body Company for a couple of years before beginning a career as a barber that spanned over 60 years. He worked for many years as co-owner and operator of Owens & Taylor Barber Shop and later in his career he worked as the sole proprietor of the barber shop and took much pride in taking care of his customers. He was a legendary barber and a dying breed of hard work and personal service. Jack was a dedicated husband, a loving father and grandfather, and was an avid outdoorsman who thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and telling his customers many a fishing tale. He had an abundance of friends far and wide and enjoyed each of them greatly. He was the son of the late Alta Mae Wright Taylor and Terrell Weeks Taylor, and was preceded in death by his Son, Michael Derek Taylor, Grandson, Michael Derek “Dee” Taylor, and 3 Siblings, Chloe Lewis, Earl Taylor, and Jimmy Taylor.

 He is survived by his Wife – Kathy “Kass” Wilson Taylor of Eastman; Daughter – Lisa Taylor Dorris Couillard (Mike) of Warner Robins; Step-Daughter – Sandie Harrell Wallace of Donalsonville, GA; 2 Grandchildren – Shaun Dykes (Michelle) of Warner Robins and Alyssa Wallace of Donalsonville, GA; 2 Sisters – Martha Rogers of Eastman and Margie Jones (Bobby) of Rentz; 2 Sisters-in-law – Linda Taylor of Cadwell and Carolyn Taylor of Eastman; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the Taylor residence, 669 Cochran Hwy., Eastman. Jack will lie-in-state from 3:00PM-7:00PM Thursday, May 13, in Southerland Funeral Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 5062, Eastman, GA 31023.
