REV. WILLIAM JACKSON “JACK” SHEFFIELD, age 79, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Serenity Hospice in Dublin.

 Graveside services will be held at 3:00PM Friday, May 17, at Vilula Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Donnie Sutton and Rev. Royce McClelland officiating.

 Rev. Sheffield was born in Cochran, a member and pastor of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, a graduate of Rhine High School, Middle Georgia College and Luther Rice Seminary College, a former member of the Georgia National Guard, and was a retired insurance agent for Farm Bureau for over 18 years and ABC Insurance Agency for over 20 years. He was a longtime Baptist minister serving at Oakdale Baptist Church, Vilula Baptist Church, Central Baptist Church and Poplar Springs Baptist Church and was a former youth and music minister at Central Baptist for many years. Jack was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, an avid rose gardener, and a former auto mechanic at Jones Chevrolet in Eastman. He was son of the late Lizzie Mae Budd Sheffield and Hardy Wilkins Sheffield and was preceded in death by a Brother, G.W. Sheffield.

 Survivors: Wife of 57 years – Charlene Bowen Sheffield of Eastman; Daughter – Amber Winans (David) of Eastman; Granddaughter – Sarah Ashley Winans of Eastman; 4 Sisters – Macie Helton (Gary) of Rhine, Nyoka Gassett (Frank) of Oglethorpe, Patsy Wiggins of Eastman, and Dale Griffin (Donnie) of Ideal, GA; 2 Brothers – Tim Sheffield (Debbie) of Eastman and Tommy Sheffield of Rhine; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Amber and David Winans, 54 Pine Lane Drive, Eastman, and will receive friends in Vilula Baptist Church from 2:00PM-3:00PM Friday, May 17. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to Poplar Springs Baptist Church or Vilula Baptist Church.
