MR. JERRELL JOE “J.J.” WHITE, age 77, of Gresston, GA, died Saturday, May 29, 2021, at his residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, June 2, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. William Baggley and Rev. Billy Coleman officiating, with interment in Giddens Harrell Cemetery.

 J.J. was born and raised in Wheeler County, a member and deacon of First Assembly of God in Cochran, and a former heavy equipment operator. He worked for many years as a crane operator, truck driver, and was owner and operator of J.J.’s Paving for several years. J.J. was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who possessed a huge heart and endeavored to help others. He was generous to a fault and always put others’ needs ahead of his own. He was the son of the late Jessie Caldwell White and Julian White, and was preceded in death by 3 Siblings, Ferrell James White, Gene White, and Betty Hanson, and a Sister-in-law, Linda Norris.

 He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years – Josephine Hilliard White of Gresston; 2 Daughters – Stacey White of Cochran and Darla White of Gresston; Son – Shawn White (Jennifer) of Gresston; 3 Grandchildren – Brittany Farmer, Cam Farmer, and Logan White; 2 Great-Grandchildren – Don Burnman, III and Bentlee Farmer; 2 Sisters – Frances Spires of Sandersville and Ann Combs (Howard) of Conyers; Brother – Ronnie White (Beth) of McRae; 2 Sisters-in-law – Connie Cline of Eastman and Diane Simmons of Tifton; 2 Brothers-in-law – Ronnie Giddens (Linda) of Cochran and Chris Hilliard (Lisa) of Eastman; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Josephine White, 153 Wallace Circle, Gresston, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 6:00PM-8:00PM Tuesday, June 1. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the Lady Indians Softball Boosters, c/o Dodge County High School, 350 Pearl Bates Avenue, Eastman, GA 31023.
