MR. JAMES CULLEN “J.C.” McCRANIE, age 86, of Eastman, GA, died Friday, March 29, 2019 at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.

MR. JAMES CULLEN “J.C.” McCRANIE, age 86, of Eastman, GA, died Friday, March 29, 2019 at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.

 Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Monday, April 1, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Jerry Peele officiating, with interment in Orphans Cemetery.

 J.C. was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Eastman First Baptist Church, a graduate of Chauncey High School where he was an excellent basketball player, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was proud to be an American. He was a member of the Eastman Masonic Lodge where he served a term as Worshipful Master, a member of the FFA board at Dodge County High School, and a member of the Eastman Jaycees. He was retired from Robins AFB and a retired sales representative for Mutual of Omaha and United of Omaha Insurance Companies where he received many awards for his excellent accomplishments. J.C. loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter, and loved the family farm where he grew up where he made beautiful memories teaching his grandchildren to fish in his pond. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling with them. J.C. was son of the late Edith Doyle Cadwell McCranie and William Dennis McCranie and was preceded in death by 4 Siblings, Joyce Yawn, Myrtle Shepherd, Montine Cadwell, and Dudley McCranie.

 He is survived by his beloved Wife of 65 years, Wilmatine Graham McCranie of Eastman, Daughter, Susan McCranie Barlow of Eastman, Son-in-Law Greg Barlow of Eastman, 2 Grandchildren, Katie Elizabeth Barlow and Dalton McCranie Barlow who have always been the love of his life, Brother-in-Law, Wendell Graham, and Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

 The family may be contacted at the McCranie residence, 983 Cochran Hwy., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM - 3:00PM Monday, April 1.
