MR. I. G. GIDDENS, age 76, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.

MR. I. G. GIDDENS, age 76, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.

 Funeral Services will be held at Southerland Funeral Chapel 11:00AM Tuesday, June 20, 2023, with Rev. Ronnie Jones officiating, with interment in Orphans Cemetery.

 Mr. Giddens was born in Eastman, GA, on February 11, 1947, and was of the Baptist faith. He was a 1965 graduate of Dodge County High School. He was a 4-year veteran of the US Air Force and was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. During his time in service, he received a bachelor’s degree in Jet Engine Mechanics. I.G. worked at Standard Candy Company for many years and was the owner and operator of G&S Fire Extinguisher Service for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. I.G. was affectionately known as I.J. by numerous family and friends. He was the son of the late Jimmy Lou Brown Giddens and George W. “Dick” Giddens and was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Kathy Ann Williams Giddens, and 2 siblings, Hubert Giddens, and Sally Lou Giddens Smith.

 He is survived by his 2 Daughters – Brandy Danielle Giddens of Chattanooga, TN and Katie Giddens Cravey (Joey) of Eastman; Son – Brian Giddens (Kasi) of Eastman; 4 Grandchildren – A.J. Giddens (Robert) of Cochran, Auzzie Dunn of Eastman, Ayden Giddens of Eastman, and Jae Giddens of Eastman; 6 Great-Grandchildren – Lila Sheffield, Jade Sheffield, Wyatt Cravey, Grace Cravey, William Allen, and Cameron Allen; Sister – Wylene Pittman of Eastman; 3 Brothers – J.W. Giddens (Aurelia) and George Giddens both of Eastman, and Edward Lamar “Bobo” McCranie (Jan) of Stockbridge, GA; 2 Sisters-In-Law – Flora Giddens of Culloden, GA, and Shirley Reaves of Sheffield, AL; Brother-In-Law – Johnny Williams (Jeanne) of Bonaire, GA; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at 815 Albert Lampkin Rd., Eastman, GA, 31023, and will receive friends at Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM, Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
