MR. HERMAN HENRY MADDOX, age 78, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, at his residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, April 30, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Chuck Wimberly, Jr. officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, followed by military honors.

 Herman was born in Cochran, GA on May 31, 1947, to the late Leita Mae Kitchens Maddox and Isaac Edward Maddox. He was a graduate of Bleckley County High School and was a part of the school basketball team that won the 1965 championship. He was honored to be inducted into the Cochran-Bleckley Sports Hall of Fame on February 24, 2024. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army, worked for a time at L & H Shirt Factory before working for Jones Glass Company in Macon, GA for over 25 years as a glass installer. He was a member and deacon at Central Baptist Church for many years.

 Herman was a gentle soul, who was always the life of the party, and made sure to live his life to the fullest. He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking and getting to know everyone he encountered. He loved hunting deer, turkey, and doves, fishing in a boat, even though he could not swim…there is a story to that, and spending time with his family and friends.

Herman was preceded in death by his Wife, Martha Horton Maddox, Parents, Leita Mae Kitchens Maddox and Isaac Edward Maddox, and his Siblings, J.W. Maddox, Bernard Pete Maddox, Susan Maddox, Clara Parr, Roberta Kight, and Mary Norfleet.

 He is survived by his Daughters – Carol Ann Bond (Darryl) of Eastman and Melinda Maddox of Hawkinsville; Son – Allen Maddox (Tina) of Hawkinsville; Grandchildren – Wesley Bond, Jacob Andrew Bond (Katelyn), Ryan May, Ike Maddox, Riley Maddox, and Morgan Danielle Maddox; 3 Great-Grandchildren; Sister – Betty McElheny of Eatonton; Brother – Joe Maddox (Rita) of Oxford, GA; Sister-in-law and Brothers-in-law – Grace Rowland Maddox, George Kight, and Lawton Holmes; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 The family may be contacted at the Maddox residence, 5831 4th Avenue, Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Thursday, April 30.
