MR. HAROLD ANTHONY GIDDENS, age 79, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at his residence.

 Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, December 9, at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Todd Crosby officiating.

 Harold was born in Charlotte, NC and raised in Dodge County. He was a 1961 graduate of Dodge County High School, joined the U.S. Army in 1969 and toured in Korea during the Vietnam Era. After discharging from service he married in 1973 and moved to Jonesboro, GA. He worked for True Value Hardware in Jonesboro for over 15 years and in 1984 began work as a water lab manager for the Clayton County Water Authority and retired after 17 years of service. Harold and his family moved back home to Eastman in 2015 and was a member of Eastman First Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Mollie Mercer Giddens and John Will Giddens and was preceded in death by 11 Siblings, Sarah “Polly” Broome, Waldo “Pete” Giddens, John W. Giddens, Oscar Giddens, Annie Leila Harrell, Fannie Wilcox, Minnie Giddens, Betty Myers, Horace “Bud” Giddens, Jack Giddens, and Sylvia Stuckey, and a Brother-in-law, Don Lowery.

 He is survived by his Wife of 47 years – Dale Lowery Giddens of Eastman; Daughter – Rachel Giddens (Brent) of Eastman; Son – Jared Giddens (Katy) of Tyrone, GA; 3 Grandchildren – James Paschal Giddens, Zander Glynn Giddens both of Eastman, and Janie Lynn Giddens of Tyrone, GA; Sister-in-law – Judy A. Lowery of Eastman; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

 The family may be contacted at the Giddens residence, 5017 Park Street, Eastman. Harold will lie-in-state from 11:00AM-4:00PM Tuesday, December 8, at Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the Eastman First Baptist Church Building Fund, 5107 Oak Street, Eastman, GA 31023 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
