MR. H. FRANK ERWIN, SR., age 82, of Eastman, GA, formally of Shellman, GA, died Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Atrium Navicent Health in Macon, GA.

 A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 12:30PM – 1:30PM at Shellman Methodist Church (at the corner of Park and Payne Streets) in Shellman, GA with a private graveside service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany, GA.

 Mr. Erwin was born at home in the Benevolence Community in Randolph County and was a member of Shellman Methodist Church. He was a 1959 graduate of Shellman High School. He received his associates degree from Young Harris College and received a pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia. Shortly after graduating he married in 1967 and moved to Atlanta and worked his first job as a pharmacist at King Drugs. Frank Jr. was 2 years old when the family moved back to Shellman, GA. Frank Sr. worked as a pharmacist for a local Shellman pharmacy until purchasing the company in 1979. He was the owner and operator of Erwin Drug Company for 36 years and later worked as a pharmacist for Wal-Mart for 10 years. He and his wife, Clara enjoyed many years of retirement at their residences in Shellman, GA, Panama City Beach, FL, and Blairsville, GA. He loved the beach, reading, rocking in his chair on the porch, watching the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldog football, most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was the son of the late Pansy McGrotha Erwin and John Hugh Erwin and was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Orr, daughter-in-law, Kelli Pruett Erwin, and brother-in-law, William “Billy” Tarpley.

 He is survived by his Wife of 56 years – Clara Tarpley Erwin of Eastman, GA; Son – H. Frank Erwin, Jr. (Sondra) of Eastman, GA; Granddaughter – Kylie Erwin Knowles (Timothy) of Milan, GA: 2 Great-Grandchildren – Tate Knowles and Kennedy Rae Knowles, both of Milan, GA; 3 Step-Grandchildren – Bre Wyatt of New Bedford, MA, Alex Wyatt of Warner Robins, GA and Myranda Wallace (Adam) of Newnan, GA; Step Great Granddaughter – Lillian Geister; Sister – Evelyn Garmager (Curt) of Carlton, WA; 2 Brothers-in-law – Tommy Tarpley (Patricia) of Woodsboro, MD, and Tal K. Orr of Dublin, GA; Several Nieces and Nephews, and Great Nieces and Nephews.
