MRS. GWENDOLYN PEACOCK CUNNINGHAM, age 76, of Buford, GA, passed away March 25, 2025, at Manor Lake at Hamilton Mill in Buford, GA.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Jerry Peele officiating, followed by interment in Plainfield Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Gwen was born in Eastman, GA, on January 2, 1949, and was a member of Crossview Baptist Church in Hoschton, GA. She was a graduate of Dodge County High School and received her associate’s degree from Middle Georgia College. She sang and played piano and was in the Glee Club in high school. Gwen was a vital part of The Hendrick Automotive Group, in her position as Controller at Gwinnett Place Honda in Duluth, GA. She received the coveted Controller of the Year award on several occasions throughout her 30-year career with Hendrick Automotive. Gwen is remembered as a very strong and fair mentor to many on her team at Gwinnett Place Honda and her expertise in leadership was valued by everyone.

She enjoyed spending her week at St. Simons Island every summer and having family visit throughout the week, each night enjoying dessert and coffee after dinner. She and John enjoyed many vacations to places such as Big Sur, CA, Little Palm Isle, SC, and the Bahamas.

Mrs. Cunningham was the daughter of the late Avis Wynn Peacock and Walter Leonard Peacock and was preceded in death by her siblings, Winton Peacock, Wayne Peacock, and Marcia Peacock Martin, Sister-In-Law, Mary Jo Graham Peacock, and Brother-In-Law, Ronald Elbert Martin.

She is survived by her Husband of 55 years – John Mark Cunningham of Buford, GA; Daughter – Wendy Cunningham of Braselton, GA; Son – John Matthew “Matt” Cunningham (Whitney) of Charlotte, NC; Grandson – John Kenneth “Jack” Bratcher of Braselton, GA; Brothers – Bobby Peacock (Joyce) and Emory Peacock (Linda) of Eastman; sister-in-law, Judi Womack Peacock of Statesboro, GA. Nieces and Nephews – Cindy Perry of Braselton, GA, Jenny Andreades of (Tommy) Lake Martin, AL, Ron Martin (Michelle Nunn) of Atlanta, GA, Lyn Peacock and Layne Peacock of Statesboro, GA, Jon Peacock (Erin) of Perry, GA, Beth Long (Ken) of Canton, GA, Larry Peacock of Waleska, GA, Robert Peacock (Brandi Wynne) of Perry, GA, and Susan Southerland (Gant) of Eastman, GA.

 The family requests in addition to flowers that contributions be made to The Friends You Need http://www.friendsuneed.org/ in Buford Georgia and Eagle Ranch in Flowery Branch, GA. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00PM on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Eagle Ranch Chapel, 5500 Union Church Road, Flowery Branch, GA 30542. A reception will follow at The Lodge at Eagle Ranch.
