Greta Kelley Wright went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 15, 2021. For almost a year, she lived each day fighting the battle with pancreatic cancer, and in the end, she has won the ultimate prize.

Greta leaves behind her husband of almost 32 years, Matthew Franklin Wright of Perry, Ga, one daughter, Kellyn Wright (Griffin) Shollenberger, granddaughter Ava Grace Shollenberger, and a grandson on the way (due early 2022) of Seminole Fla. Greta has one brother, Gregg Howell Kelley (Alison) of Hawkinsville, one nephew James Kelley (Hailey), one niece Marti Kelley (Josh) Jones, and two great nieces Addison and Arlyn Kelley. Greta was preceded in death by her parents, Ava Nix Kelley and Aubrey Howell Kelley.

Greta loved spending time with her family and friends. She a was a 1978 graduate of Hawkinsville High School where she was the Drum Majorette for the Big Red Marching Machine. She graduated from Valdosta State University with her Bachelor’s degree and then graduated from Georgia College with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Greta had retired in October 2020 after 39 years of Federal Service with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

Donations in addition to flowers can be made to Houston Lake Baptist Church (Perry GA) or any pancreatic cancer research.

Visitors and guests will be welcome at the Wright family home at 115 Surrey Place, Perry, Ga, Friday, October 22 from 5:30 – 7:00. Funeral services will be at Houston Lake Baptist Church (2300 Hwy 127, Perry) at 11:00AM, Saturday, October 23, with visitation from 10:30AM-11:00AM .
