MR. WILLIAM GREGORY “GREG” IVEY, age 63, of Eastman, GA, died, Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Dodge County Hospital.

 A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30AM Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Southerland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Myron Parkerson officiating.

 Mr. Ivey was born and raised in the Midway Community of Pulaski County and was a member of Zion Hope Baptist Church. He attended Dodge County High School and later took a job as a CNA at Middle Georgia Nursing Home. After several years he went to work for Yawn and Sons and began a career as a backhoe operator while working many other tasks during his years working with Jack Yawn. Among his many duties was installing grave vaults for funeral homes in Dodge County. Greg went to work with the City of Eastman Street and Water Departments in 1982 where he would work for the next 31 years before retiring in 2003. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR racing, tending to his pet goat Kevin and especially, spending time with his daughter and grandchildren on their back porch. He was the son of the late Willie D. Ivey and Myrtice Christmas Ivey and is preceded in death by his Son, Sam Ivey and 10 Siblings, Louise Cole, Bobby Ivey, David Ivey, Royce Ivey, Doug Ivey, Jane Hulett, Lillie Mae Elmore, and Gladys Manning, Billy Giddens and Ray Huffman.

 Survivors: His Daughter – Joni Ivey of Eastman; 4 Grandchildren – A’Leah Ivey, Jada Ivey, Braxton Ivey, and Caden Ivey, all of Eastman; 3 Sisters – Linda Settles (Gerald) of McRae, Faye Ivey of McRae, and Frances Lindsey of Leesburg; 2 Brothers – Ricky Ivey of Reidsville and Jimmy Williams (Ann) of Warner Robins; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM – 10:30AM Saturday, November 20 and may be contacted at the residence of Joni Ivey, 108 Shady Oaks Road, Eastman, GA 31023.
