MRS. ELSIE GRACEY REGISTER YANCEY, age 85, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, September 18, 2022, at her residence.

 Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, September 22, at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Ricky Anderson and Rev. Chad Kennison officiating.

 Grace was born in Rentz and a 1955 graduate of Dodge County High School. After high school, she moved to Jacksonville, FL and worked as a title search employee at Florida Title and Guarantee for about seven years. She was also a Southern Bell telephone operator for roughly four years. She later moved to Eastman in 1973 and worked at Stuckey’s Inc. for several years. Grace had a passion for helping others and that led her to going to going to nursing school and she became an LPN in 1993. She worked as an LPN at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home, Middle Georgia Nursing Home, and for Dr. Monroe Middlebrooks for over ten years. She was a charter member of Eastman Bible Baptist Church and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Grace was the daughter of the late Nora Jenny Francis Register and Elijah Franklin Register and was preceded in death by her Husband of 62 years, Reuben Thomas Yancey, Son, Reuben Thomas “Tommy” Yancey, Granddaughter, Wendy Snyder, Son-in-law, Wendell Wingo, and 4 Siblings, Clinton Register, Agnes Knight Giddens, Walter Register, and Joyce Williams Sanders.

 She is survived by her 2 Daughters – Jenny Wingo and Bertha Snyder, both of Eastman; 2 Grandchildren – Beverly Snyder and Eli Wingo of Eastman; 4 Great-Grandchildren – Jax Thomas Wingo, Charlie Wingo, A.J. Quinares, and Andariel Andres; Sisters-in-law – Nettie Justice of Augusta; Brother-in-law – Tommy Ryals of Eastman; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the Yancey residence, 1357 Bell Line Rd., Eastman, and will receive friends in Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home from 10:00AM-11:00AM Thursday, September 22.
