BOBBY GLENN BROWN, age 46, of Mt. Vernon, GA, died Friday, April 12, 2019 at Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, April 16, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Randy Callahan officiating, with interment in Giddens-Harrell Cemetery.
Glenn was born in Wurzburg, Germany, of the Christian Faith, a graduate of Jones County High School, and received athletic degrees from Brewton Parker College and Georgia Southern University. He was a former coach for over 16 years at Robert Toombs Christian Academy where he coached baseball, football, and basketball. In recent years he worked as a grocery clerk at Harvey’s, at a trophy shop in Vidalia, and as an off staff assistant to the local coaches as a filmer. Bobby enjoyed sports and coaching, trips to Massachusetts, and mentoring kids as a counselor at a kids summer camp. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Darlene Bryan Brown and a Brother, Christopher Troy Brown.
Survivors: Father – Bobby E. Brown of Byron; Brother – Jason Scott Brown (Sheryl) of Arnold, MD; 2 Step-Sisters – Amanda Thomas of Warner Robins and Brandy Sailor (David) of Perry; 2 Nieces – Amber Brown and Katie Brown; Nephew – Thomas Jackson (Debra); 2 Step-Nieces – Briana Sailor and Izzy Sailor; Grand-Niece – Marlee Jackson; Grandmother – Eva Mae Belflower of Alamo; Aunts and Uncles – Sara Simmons, Laura Mancio, Virginia Davila, Cathy Avery, Gene Belflower, Richard Belflower, George “Jack” Brown (Phylis), and Charlie McCranie; Numerous Cousins and Friends.
The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Tuesday, April 16.
