Glenda was born in Alma, GA and raised in the Cedar Grove Community. She was a 1965 graduate of Laurens High School and married the love of her life, Joe Charles Kinchen in 1966.

She was a former textile worker at Alamo Shirt Factory, a former bookkeeper at Heckler Corporation in Milan for several years, a former bookkeeper at Stuckey’s, Inc., and worked at Martha Sheldon Florist. She worked as a bookkeeper at RDC for many years and retired as bookkeeper at Heart of Georgia RESA after 22 years of service. Glenda enjoyed cooking, arranging flowers, and working in her yard. She was especially proud of her daylily flower beds which included many varieties and a rainbow of colors. She was an excellent seamstress and could sew anything from prom dresses to stuffed animals and she enjoyed crocheting. Over this past summer, she sewed bears made from her late husband’s old blue jeans for all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was extremely proud of this project. She loved traveling and enjoyed 3 trips to Israel with Carroll Roberson Ministries and was one of his biggest supporters. She admired his ministry through his preaching and singing. Glenda was a dedicated member of Antioch Baptist Church #2 for over 50 years and has previously served as the WMU director, taught Children’s Sunday School classes, served as the Food Committee director, assisted in Vacation Bible School, and typed the weekly church bulletins.

She was also a dedicated wife and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the daughter of the late Lilla Mae Davidson Ward and Eddie Burton Ward, widow of Joe Charles Kinchen, and was preceded in death by her Brother, McKinley Ward, and a Son-in-law, Rick Dailey.

She is survived by her 2 Daughters – Julie Scarborough (Dean) and Sharon Dailey both of Milan; 3 Grandchildren – Alyssa Jones (Rusty), Tiffani Scarborough (Ben), and David “D.J.” Dailey (Amanda); 3 Great-Grandchildren – Raegan Jones, Kennady Haven Jones, and Eli Passmore; 5 Sisters – Rosetta Ussery of Dublin, Euralee Browning of Cedar Grove, Evelene Warren of Cadwell, Nelda Graham (Bobby) of Milan, and Marsha Graham (Dean) of Cedar Grove; 2 Brothers – Eugene Ward of Adrian and Randall Ward (Frances) of Rentz; 2 Sisters-in-law – Mary Ann Cobb (Wayne) of Milan and Carol Ward of Swainsboro; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
