MRS. GLADYS LOUISE HARRELL LINDSEY, age 92, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at her residence.

MRS. GLADYS LOUISE HARRELL LINDSEY, age 92, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at her residence.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, October 2, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Jerry Peele and Rev. Joe Daniel officiating, with a private committal service at Fair Haven Baptist Church Cemetery.

 She was born April 3, 1927 in the Fair Haven Community of Dodge County. Her parents were the late Rev. Cecil D. Harrell and Annie Maude Yancey Harrell. She was the wife of Lt. Col. Ernest R. Lindsey, Jr. for 50 years and lived in Arkansas. She was a member of Eastman First Baptist Church and the Hope Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lindsey graduated from Rhine High School in 1945, and from Martha Berry College in 1950. Her first year out of college she taught school in Valdosta, GA at Pine Grove High School. After that she worked for the Cooperative Extension Service as a home economist for over 31 years. This work was enjoyed in Jeff Davis, Colquitt, and Ben Hill counties in Georgia. In Arkansas, she worked in Union, Columbia, and Ouachita counties. She was preceded in death by 4 Brothers, Roy Duane Harrell, J. T. Harrell, Grady Harrell, and Lovette Harrell, and a Nephew, Derrell Harrell.

 Survivors: Special nieces Aleph Harrell Fore (Chuck) and Amy Harrell Cravey and their children Will and Annie Fore, Elaina (Kyle), Lauren, and Case Cravey. 5 Sisters-in-Law – Harriet Harrell of Eastman, Emma Lee Harrell of Macon, Nell Harrell of Byron, Jane Harrell of Warner Robins and Virginia Spooner; Nieces and Nephews – Joe T. Harrell, Jr., Bonnie Harrell Mooring, Brenda Lord (Glenn), Joan Smith, Kay Jarriel (Mark), Don Lindsey (Barbara), and Susan Gunther (Tim); Several Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews whom she loved dearly.

 The family may be contacted at the Lindsey residence, 3547 Abbeville Hwy., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Wednesday, October 2. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Eastman First Baptist Church Building Fund, 5107 Oak Street, Eastman, GA 31023 or to the Gideons International Bible Fund.
