MRS. GERALDINE MULLIS THOMPSON, age 83, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, May 19, 2025, at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Thursday, May 22, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Myron Parkerson officiating, with interment in Sweet Home Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Geraldine was born in Eastman, GA on February 14, 1942, to the late Lillie Mae Oxley Mullis and Theo Mullis. She grew up learning how to work hard and provide for her family. She left school at an early age to work as a sharecropper picking cotton and later worked for a brief time at Hanes Shirt Factory. It was hard work, working in the cotton fields, but it’s where she met the love of her life, Billy, and it led to a blissful marriage that lasted for over 50 years. She was blessed to have three sons, and she worked diligently to take care of her family and raise her boys as a homemaker. She was a member of Plainfield Baptist Church, was a great cook, enjoyed fishing in her earlier years, going to yard sales, and keeping up with her boys and grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Billy Earl Thompson, Son, Randy Billy Thompson, Great-Granddaughter, Rayleigh Howell, and Siblings, Joel “Buddy” Mullis, Russell Mullis, and Mary Emma Kitchens.

She is survived by her Sons – Danny Thompson of Dublin, GA and Steve Thompson (Jenny) of Eastman, GA; Daughters-in-law – Diane Wood of Hawkinsville, GA and Debbie Brown of Eastman, GA; Grandchildren – Randy Billy Thompson, Jr., Jessica Thompson, Crystal Thompson, Katie T. Barrett (Josh), Danny “Bubba” Thompson, Daniel Thompson, Andrew Thompson (Gracie), Justin Thompson, Kaycie T. Howell (Michael); Great-Grandchildren – Robert Earl McIntyre, A.J. Thompson, C.J. Barrett, Leigha Barrett, Harper Barrett, Ella Ussery, Danny William Thompson, Jr., Jason Lee Howell, Waylon Howell, Winona Thompson, Maverick Thompson, Ryder Thompson, and Colton Thompson; Several Nieces and Nephews.

The family may be contacted at the Thompson residence, 1217 Bowers Cemetery Rd., Cochran, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Thursday, May 22.
