MRS. GERALDINE JONES SHEFFIELD, age 77, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home in Eastman, GA.
MRS. GERALDINE JONES SHEFFIELD, age 77, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home in Eastman, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Tuesday, November 19, at Rock Branch Baptist Church, with Mr. Bobby Ryals and Rev. Dwaine Dunn officiating, with interment in Rock Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Geraldine was born in Plainfield, GA on May 3, 1947. She was a member of Old Daniel Baptist Church and attended Rock Branch Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Dodge County High School and worked several jobs over the years, including Fred’s Dollar store as a clerk, was several cashier jobs at various stores, a factory employee at Standard Candy Company, a quality control and clerical worker at Gilman Paper Company for over ten years, and at Eastman YDC for over ten years before retiring in 2009. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, who was affectionately known as “Nana” to her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzle books, and was a great cook. She also loved baking cakes and spending time with her family. Geraldine will be remembered for the memories and special times spent with her family. She was the daughter of the late Christine Allen Jones and Colen O. Jones and was preceded in death by her Daughter, Wendy Sheffield Wilson, Siblings, G.C. Jones and Melteen Cook, and 3 Brothers-in-law, Donald Cook, W.J. Roberson, and Junior Weathersbee.
She is survived by her Daughter – Cindy Singletary (John) of Eastman, GA; Granddaughters – Marina Wilson and Hannah Parkerson (Cody) both of Eastman, GA; Grandson – Christopher Spires (Danielle) of East Dublin, GA; Great-Grandchildren – Caydence Lemon, Jayla Swain both of Eastman, GA, and Cayde Spires of Adrian, GA; Sisters – Linda Roberson of Rhine, GA and Betty Weathersbee of Eastman, GA; Brothers – Ernest Jones of Plainfield, GA and Bobby Jones of Dublin, GA; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
The family may be contacted at the residence of Cindy and John Singletary, 4092 WPA Rd., Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 5:00PM-7:00PM Monday, November 18.
