Mrs. Georgia Pearl Justice Stapleton, age 95, of Eastman, GA died Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Heart of Georgia Nursing Home in Eastman.

Mrs. Georgia Pearl Justice Stapleton, age 95, of Eastman, GA died Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Heart of Georgia Nursing Home in Eastman.

 Funeral Services will be held 3:00PM Tuesday February 7, 2023, in Southerland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Crooms with interment in Parkerson Cemetery.

 Mrs. Stapleton was born in 1927 in Winter Garden, FL. and was a member of Parkerson Baptist Church in Eastman. She was raised in the Midway Community of Pulaski County and attended Dodge High and the family later moved to Rhine in the late 1940s. She was homemaker and a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of and cooking for her family. She loved singing gospel songs and was a talented harmonica player. Mrs. Georgia enjoyed singing in the choir at Parkerson Baptist Church for many years. Her hobbies included tending her flowers and she especially enjoyed taking care of her Zinnia’s. She was the daughter of the late James Oliver Justice and Clara Kemp Justice and was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years Carl Stapleton, 8 siblings, O.J. Justice, Orlando Justice, Moses E. “Pete” Justice, Nannie J. Mullis, Elvenia J. King, Lucille J. Teagle, Alice Justice and Warren Lester Justice, Granddaughter, Susan S. Rye, 2 Great Great Grandsons, Cameron Powell and Ethan Holder, and her son-in-law, J.B. Smith.

            She is survived by 2 Daughters – Dorothy S. Garrett Smith of Eastman and Betty C. Stapleton Babb (Eddie) of Anderson, SC; 6 Grandchildren - Eddie Harrell (Becky) of Belton, SC, Brandie Rochester (Dustin) of Piedmont, SC, Bo Smith (Julia), Cynthia Smith, Denise Hunter, and Marie Johnson (Ronnie), all of Eastman; 18 Great Grandchildren and 21 Great Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters-in-law – Nettie Rae Yancey Justice of Augusta and Carolyn Cannington Justice of Eastman; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Dorothy Smith, 735 Congo Lane, Apt. 708, Eastman and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. In addition to flowers the family request contributions to Activities at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home, 815 Legion Drive, Eastman, GA 31023.
