MR. GEORGE F. “LIL BUDDY” GIDDENS, age 85, of Eastman, GA, died Friday, February 28, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Monday, March 3, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Dwaine Dunn, Mr. Greg Gunn, and Mr. Larry Brewer officiating, with interment in Giddens-Harrell Cemetery.
George was born in Eastman, GA on April 20, 1939. He learned the value of hard work at an early age. He left school early to help work on the family farm before later working for Standard Candy Company. He worked with Standard Candy Company until his retirement in the early 1990s. George loved fishing, sitting around and playing his guitar, and spending time with his wife and family. He was the son of the late George W. “Dick” Giddens and Jimmy Lou Brown Giddens, and was preceded in death by his Wife, Edna Dunn Giddens, and Siblings, I.J. Giddens, Hubert Giddens, and Sally Lou Giddens Smith.
He is survived by his Daughter – Ginny Beck (Ricky) of Eastman, GA; Grandchildren – Sam Beck, Sara Myers (Keith), Justin Beck (Tonya), and Theresa Borthwick (Talmadge); Sister – Wylene Pittman of Eastman, GA; Brother – J.W. Giddens (Aurelia) of Eastman, GA; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law – Donald Dunn, Bruce Dunn (Dale), Helen Dunn, and Larry Brewer; Several Nieces and Nephews; Many cousins including a special cousin – Mary Giddens; Best Friend – Derrell Yawn.
The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Monday, March 3.
