MR. GARY LEE HENDERSON, age 71, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Serenity Place Hospice in Dublin, GA.

 Memorial services will be held at a later date.

 Gary was born in Ohio, of the Baptist Faith, and a 1970 graduate of Newark High School, where he was a talented baseball and football player. After high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. After completion of his military service, he returned home to Ohio and went to work at a fiber optics company for many years. He later began his civil service career and worked at Wright Patterson AFB in Newark, OH and later transferred to Robins AFB in Warner Robins, where he finished his civil service career that spanned over 25 years. After marrying in 2010, he and his wife lived in Eastman where he enjoyed the fruits of his retirement. He enjoyed working in his yard, meeting new friends during his many trips to the local Wal-Mart, taking trips to Jekyll Island and walking on the beach. Gary was a dedicated husband, and a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He was an avid golfer, a member of a bowling and softball league during his younger years, and a die-hard Ohio State Buckeye’s fan. Gary was the son of the late Howard (Henny) Henderson and Phyllis Veinhower Henderson.

 He is survived by his Wife of 12 years – Sue Florence Dollar Henderson of Eastman; Daughter – Andrea Henderson (Tom Booher) of Newark, OH; 2 Grandchildren – Logan Cramer and Connor Henderson; Step-Children – Lee Dollar of Eastman and Suzette Dollar Ellis of Athens; Sisters – Terri Henderson (Judy Shepard) of Newark, OH; Several Extended Family Members and Numerous Friends.
