MRS. FRONICE HOLLAND VEAL, age 90, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Bryant Nursing Home in Cochran, GA.
MRS. FRONICE HOLLAND VEAL, age 90, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Bryant Nursing Home in Cochran, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Monday, April 21, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Mike Grenade and Dr. Jim Rahn officiating, with interment in Orphans Cemetery.
Fronice was born in Milan, GA on May 8, 1934, to the late Kate Strickland Holland and Walter J. Holland. She was a 1952 graduate of Milan High School, married the love of her life, Tommy Veal, on October 2, 1952, and was blessed with a son, John, in 1959. She was co-owner and operator of Cobb Floral from 1963 until 1966, and a homemaker. She was a dedicated wife for over 53 years, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was affectionately known as “Mama Fronice” to her grandchildren. Fronice loved gardening and animals. She had many pets over the years and took in many strays where she provided a good home for them. She was an outstanding cook and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Along with her parents, Fronice was preceded in death by her Husband, John Thomas “Tommy” Veal, Sr., and Siblings, Dot Massingill, Nell Cannington-Davis, and Charles Strickland.
She is survived by her Son – John T. Veal, Jr. (Robyn) of Eastman, GA; 2 Grandchildren – Audrey Veal Scarborough (Kevin) of Covington, GA and John Andrew Veal (Mallory) of Bonaire, GA; 3 Great-Grandchildren – Elizabeth Scarborough, Andrew Scarborough, and Ruby Veal; Sister-in-law – Jackie Strickland of Chester, GA; Nieces and Nephews – Danny Cannington (Vicki), Tonya Mitchell (Jim), Bobby Massingill (Sharon), Chuck Strickland (Erica), Kevin Strickland (April), Wanda Lupo (Richard), Laura Turner, Janice Vaughn, Diane Geren, and Cecil Veal; Numerous great-nieces and nephews; Devoted Caregivers – Keisha Anderson, Audra Julkes, and all the staff at At Home Senior Living in Cochran, GA.
The family may be contacted at the residence of John and Robyn Veal, 965 Cochran Hwy., Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Monday, April 21.
