MR. JAMES FRED BOHANNON, age 80, of Eastman, GA, died Friday, March 15, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, March 17, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Joey Bohannon officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Fred was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, of the Baptist faith, served in the Army and Army Reserves for 11 years and was owner and operator of Bohannon Auto Repair and Wrecker Service for over 41 years. He was a former member of the Dodge County Board of Education from 1987 to 2000, an avid woodworker, a talented mechanic and car restoration enthusiast, and enjoyed attending classic car shows and camping with his family. He was son of the late Eliza Tripp Bohannon and Joe Bohannon and was preceded in death by a Son, Buddy Bohannon, Grandson, Chris Thompson, Sister, Gladys B. Smith, and 2 Brothers, Robbie J. Bohannon and J.R. Bohannon.
Survivors: Wife of 46 years – Linda Braswell Bohannon of Eastman; Daughter – Jane B. Warnock (Howard); Son – Robert Bohannon of Eastman; 5 Grandchildren – Christy Thompson, Michelle Hardy (Brian), Tiffany McAliley (Adam), Coty White (Brittany), and Skye Bohannon (Andrew Hardy); 11 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
The family may be contacted at the Bohannon residence, 6655 Fred Bohannon Rd., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 5:00PM-7:00PM Saturday, March 16.
